we work with a rotating cast of creatives on each of our projects and are always open to meeting new collaborators.

penn bálint (they/he)

penn is a hungarian multimedia artist based in devon. they have a BA in philosophy from the university of cambridge, and founded the yoko situation to find likeminded creatives. 

penn has produced art for clients such as the guardian, dartmoor national park, and wandering tiger. their first film 'moments i saw in red' (2023) has been screened at the BAFTA-qualifying BFI flare and oska bright film festivals among others, and they were selected for the BFI new voices scheme in the same year. 

his writing has been commissioned by exeter phoenix, and adc theatre. penn's theatre directing credits include 'attrition' (2022) at the national student drama festival and award-winning 'no one needs to know' (2021) at howard theatre.

august jane (they/them)

august is a writer and editor based in devon. their short fiction has been featured in zines and literary journals including the new croton review and tenderness lit, exploring themes of detachment.

in 2019, august’s short play ‘the hunt’ was performed at a showcase during the exeter fringe festival. in 2022, they joined the yoko situation to work on teddy midnight as assistant director and script editor.

yana larkhanidi (she/they)

yana is an artist and performer based in glasgow and moscow. she is a former editorial artist for glasgow university magazine (GUM) and has worked with garage museum of contemporary art, as well as pop/off/art gallery in moscow.  In 2019 yana experimented with writing and performing comedy for the cambridge footlights.

 

In 2021, she sold graphic prints of her artworks to raise money for refuweegee, a community-led charity that welcomes and supports refugees and asylum seekers in scotland.
